One person has been killed and three others injuried in a horrific truck accident on the M7 East bound under the N2 Bridge just after 12pm on Tuesday afternoon.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived on the scene to find total carnage. It is believed that a horse and trailer lost control coming down the M7 before colliding with multiple vehicles and overturning coming to rest against the bridge. One person from the truck, a male believed to be in his thirties was found severely entrapped in the truck wreckage.

He was assessed by Paramedics however he had sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene. Two others from sustained serious injuries and were stabilized on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that they required. The truck driver sustained moderate injuries and was stabilized on the scene before being transported to a nearby Durban hospital for the further treatment that he required.

At this stage the events leading up to the accident are unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
