Two separate accidents on the N2 Northbound near Westwood Mall have left seventeen people injured around 12 pm today.

In the first collision, a truck carrying cars collided with a bakkie before coming to rest in the centre medium. Both drivers had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for further care that they required.

In the backlog of the above accident three taxis collided into each other. Multiple patients were found on scene and immediately more ambulances were dispatched. A total of fifteen people had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported by ambulances to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage, the exact cause of the two collisions is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
