Eleven people have been injured after a truck and a taxi collided with each other on the M13 in Pinetown.
The exact detail as to how the accident happened will form part of a SAPS investigation and comment.
A Netcare911 rescue officer was dispatched to the area to extricate the truck driver who was trapped in the truck.
The rescue officer used the jaws of life to extricate the driver out of the truck.
The injured were stabilised on scene and thereafter transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care by another emergency service provider.
The ten injured were from the taxi and only one person was from the truck.
The injured all sustained minor injuries.
